Ag Biz Planner and Ag Biz Basics are two eLearning courses designed to help Young, Beginning, Small (YBS), and Veteran farmers and their families better understand how to run a successful farming operation.
The courses are facilitated by Farm Credit University. They offer participants knowledge of the marketplace and financial and business management advice specific to their farming operation. They also teach each farmer valuable skills that will help them develop a relationship with a loan officer.

The Ag Biz Basics Course assists YBS Farmers and Veterans in launching, growing, managing, and transitioning a farming business. This fast-paced online program is designed to help participants develop an understanding of basic financial statements, credit scores, cash flow, and how these things impact their current or future farm. Ag Biz Basics also helps prepare participants to meet with a lender. The course time commitment is approximately 3 months.

The Ag Biz Planner Course assists YBS Farmers and Veterans in learning how to better manage and grow their farming operation by increasing their knowledge of the marketplace, financial, and business management topics. This college level online course is designed to help participants develop a successful farm business plan and strengthen communication with their lender. The course time commitment is approximately 6 months and it is required that course participants complete a business plan for their farm.
