STATESVILLE, NC – Carolina Farm Credit is excited to announce that 3 local Farmer Veterans are participating in the new Ag Biz Basics course. The Ag Biz Basics’ Farmer Veteran course is hosted by Farm Credit University, and consists of 4 online modules made up of interactive services, discussions and real life application examples.
Arden resident and U.S. Navy veteran Daryl Waldron is and will be mentored by Bruce Arrington, a Loan Officer in the Asheville Branch. Daryl is currently working to earn his bachelor’s degree and hopes to gain a better understanding of what is needed to achieve his goal of owning and operating a small mushroom farm.
Stonesville resident and Marine veteran John Wilder, and wife Shelby will be mentored by Bill Miller, a Loan Officer in the Graham Branch. John and Shelby are part time farmers looking to gain a better understanding of farm finance and position their farm for a bright future.
Shelby resident and Army veteran Rodney Arrowood and wife Heike being mentored by Josh Alost, a Loan Officer in the Monroe Branch. Rodney and Heike are cattle farmers who would like gain a better understanding of farm finance and book keeping
