[Statesville, NC] After Hurricane Florence devastated highways, homes, businesses, and farming operations in North and South Carolina this September, multiple Farm Credit Association employees volunteered to assist with disaster recovery in impacted communities.

[Statesville, NC] The Farm Credit Associations of North Carolina announce a donation of $200,000 to the NC Baptist on Mission. Of this donation, $150,000 will be designated for Hurricane Florence relief efforts in North Carolina and $50,000 will be designated for Hurricane Michael relief efforts in Georgia and Florida.

STATESVILLE, NC – The Farm Credit Associations of North Carolina purchased the Grand Champion Meat Goat with a winning bid of $15,500. Carolina Farm Credit partnered with AgCarolina Farm Credit and Cape Fear Farm Credit to support the NC State Fair Jr. Livestock Sale of Champions. The winning goat was exhibited by Caley Mayo of Whitakers, NC. Mayo will receive 60% of the purchase amount, while the remaining 40% will go to support youth scholarships and livestock programs in North Carolina.

STATESVILLE, NC – Carolina Farm Credit is retiring $10.8 million of member equities in cash, representing 100% of the 2011 series of qualified allocated surplus non-qualified allocated surplus. The Association had also distributed a cash patronage of $21.5 million in April of this year. With cash patronage in the spring, and the retirement of this surplus, the cash returned to stockholders in 2018 totals nearly $32.3 million.

STATESVILLE, NC – Carolina Farm Credit recently recognized the recipients of their 2017 Corporate Mission Fund grants at a luncheon. Carolina Farm Credit awarded $144,000 in grants and scholarships in 2017, to 26 organizations and 8 college students. The luncheon was attended by over 100 recipients, guests, and employees. That brings the 3-year Corporate Mission Fund total to nearly $388,000, distributed to North Carolina organizations and students.

The institute, held at Omni Grove Park Inn in Asheville, N.C., brought together and celebrated young, beginning, and small farmers. STATESVILLE, NC – The Central Carolina Holstein Association in Orange County was recently awarded a grant through Carolina Farm Credit’s Corporate Mission Fund. The grant will be used for repairs of a barn the association uses for local events and shows throughout the year.

The grant will be used to help with the purchase of a mobile walk-in refrigeration/freezer unit that will be used to transport products from local farms to processing/distribution centers.

The grant will be used to help in the purchase of a new enclosed trailer that will be used to serve BBQ at meetings and fund raising events.
STATESVILLE, NC – The Iredell-Statesville Schools Occupational Course of Study (Iredell County) was recently awarded a grant through Carolina Farm Credit’s Corporate Mission Fund. The grant will be used to help purchase and construct a greenhouse that will provide students with a hands on learning experience and life skills that will transfer into adulthood.
STATESVILLE, NC – Oak Grove High School FFA (Davidson County) was recently awarded a grant through Carolina Farm Credit’s Corporate Mission Fund. The grant will be used to help start the school’s new FFA chapter. Funding will be used to help purchase FFA Jackets for new members.

STATESVILLE, NC – Carolina Antique Power Association Inc. (Rowan County) was recently awarded a grant through Carolina Farm Credit’s Corporate Mission Fund. The grant will be used to complete the interior of the Country Life Museum at Sloan Park. Funds will also be used to purchase interior and exterior signage for the museum.
STATESVILLE, NC – Bartlett Yancey FFA/Agricultural Education (Caswell County) was recently awarded a grant through Carolina Farm Credit’s Corporate Mission Fund. The grant will be used to purchase building materials for the school’s new animal science program. Building materials will allow for stalls and shelter to be built for animals, as well as for the outdoor classroom area for students.
STATESVILLE, NC – The Elkin High School Agriculture Program (Surry County) was recently awarded a grant through Carolina Farm Credit’s Corporate Mission Fund. The grant will be used to help fund the schools Land and Stream Hands on Learning Labs project. Students are able to hatch and grow trout that are released into the local Elk Creek along with growing seedlings to be used in grafting projects.
STATESVILLE, NC – Haywood’s Historic Farmers’ Market (Haywood County) was recently awarded a grant through Carolina Farm Credit’s Corporate Mission Fund. The grant will be used to purchase permanent signage, banners, and customer marketing pieces in order to increase the visibility of the market in the local community.

STATESVILLE, NC – The staff of Carolina Farm Credit’s Lenoir Branch recently donated $500 to Bethel Colony of Mercy, Inc. located in Lenoir, NC. The funds donated will go towards upgrading the dormitories for the men. In addition to the donation, the branch staff also worked to repaint baseboards in the dormitories.
STATESVILLE, NC – The Roxboro Branch of Carolina Farm Credit recently spent an afternoon purchasing non-perishable food items and gift cards to be donated to the local Roxboro Christian Help Center. All of the donated items will be used to help those in need of food, clothing, and other needs.
STATESVILLE, NC – The Conover Branch staff of Carolina Farm Credit recently spent a day creating and assembling collection boxes for Pink Heals of North Carolina, Foothills Chapter. The collection boxes are used within the community to collect toys, canned goods, and other non-perishable items for families in need.
STATESVILLE, NC – The staff of the Graham Branch of Carolina Farm Credit recently purchased and built picnic tables for Alamance County 4H. The picnic tables were purchased from Living Free Ministries, a local nonprofit organization that helps men suffering from substance abuse and other addictions.

STATESVILLE, NC – The staff of Carolina Farm Credit’s Sparta Branch recently purchased, assembled, and painted picnic tables for Crouse Park in Sparta, NC. In addition to purchasing and assembling new tables, the branch staff also worked to repaint the existing tables at the park.
STATESVILLE, NC – The Yanceyville Branch staff of Carolina Farm Credit recently purchased and delivered school supplies to schools in Caswell County. These school supplies will assist students and teachers throughout Caswell County.

STATESVILLE, NC – Carolina Farm Credit, its employees, and board members donated $4,000 to local charities in 2016. $2,000 was collected by employees and board members who participated in a charity contribution throughout 2016 and Carolina Farm Credit matched the employee and director donations. Each of the Carolina Farm Credit 32 branch offices submitted a local charity choice and four charities were selected through a random drawing to divide the donations.

STATESVILLE, NC – Rising Hope Farms (Catawba County) was recently awarded a grant through Carolina Farm Credit’s Corporate Mission Fund. The grant will be used to build a handicap restroom for riders and an office to house paperwork and medical supplies. Additional funds will be used to install a viewing area along with a break area and restroom for volunteers.

STATESVILLE, NC – West Rowan High School’s FFA Chapter was recently awarded a grant as part of Carolina Farm Credit’s Corporate Mission Fund. The grant will be used to purchase a small equine stall barn and tack area. This area will provide students interested in equine science education the opportunity to learn more about equine medicine and care.
